How to Paint Two Paintings in One Session

Watching this video back it does seem amazing even to me that I can keep two visual images in my head at the same time.

The way I did this was to think of the same scene on the beach on the same day. Split them in half and then reverse them.

So the viewing of the Deal Pier was a few minutes before I walked past the Pier and then saw the Bouy in the water with the sunrising. The images are reversed on the sheet of paper. In some ways it's easier to reverse them because it helps to see them as two paintings rather than one continuous image.

With watercolours you have to work really fast, there isn't much time for thinking. This more intuitive approach can have great results.
