Black Hat

Painting characters is a new series of works for me based on memory. It's been so joyful being in public again I am soaking in all the faces around me even more than I used to before the pandemic.

I've always been a people watcher. I love characters, I remember moments. Sometimes it's a piece of clothing or an expression or an accessory, or a combination like in this portrait.

None of the people are real, but they could be, or I just think they aren't real but my subconscious has remembered them.
