Into The Silent Sea

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and my early morning walks and swims inspired this painting. 

So much is going on by the sea at sunrise. The seagulls are all roused from their roof tops and fly, squawking towards the water.

Some days are too rough for a swim. Wild water swimming is new to me, this is my first year swimming in these cold temperatures. There is something incredibly magic about the crispness of the air and that dip into the cold water by The Royal Hotel. With Deal Pier in the foreground and the clouds, sunrise and France in the distance.
