This painting captures a magical moment during my trip to California in 2016, where I had the pleasure of observing the magnificent Catalina Sea Lions pups basking in the sun. My journey began with a helicopter ride over the scenic Catalina Island, followed by a thrilling submarine adventure. As we sailed past the stunning Lover's Cove, I caught a glimpse of the sea lions basking on the rocks. The sight of these majestic creatures was so mesmerising that I knew I had to capture their beauty on canvas.

One particular moment stood out - a sea lion playfully leaping out of the water with its shadow reflected in a graceful curve. It was a magical sight that left me in awe. With each brushstroke, I aimed to recreate the stunning beauty of that moment and bring the sense of wonder and tranquility to anyone who views the painting.
